LARS HEMMERLING was born in 1977 in central Berlin. Together with his twin brother Gunnar he explored his love for electronic music in an early age. Influenced by the sound of different 80s electronic music bands and producers like for example Kraftwerk, he and his brother developed their interest for electronic music and especially for the toys to do it. After the fall of the Berlin Wall they experienced the first tekkno parties at an unknown place called Rüdersdorf and started djing in the early 90s. Clubs like E-Werk, Tresor and the record store Hardwax had such a strong impact so it is not suprising that both guys set their preferences into dark dub driven electronic music with a note of acid. After a journey of three years to Hamburg, where Lars was a resident of the local Techno Promoter STROM, he moved back to Berlin in 2001 to start producing with his brother. Their first live gigs followed in Berlin underground locations like the legendary DELI Club, which was well known for the weekly Sunday after hours. It didn’t take long until they released their first tracks on labels like Mad Benton, Eintakt and Dreiton. After some years of playing gigs in the Berlin club scene and working for the label Resopal-Schallware both of them decided to have a break, giving some space for their musical development. Passionate into sound engineering and synthesis Lars and his brother set up their own studio to have sessions with different musicians and to have a place for creating inspiring synergies. In 2009 they founded the label Dock-Schallplatten together with friend and soul mate Lars Fenin, who is respected for the releases he made at the Berlin label Shitkatapult. In 2010 Lars met Dasha Rush. She encouraged Lars to perform single live performances at Dasha’s event series “all you need is ears”. After one year both decided to establish the common project LADA and first live performances were held in Germany and Russia. In 2012 the first release of LADA appeared on Fullpanda Records FP18, which is named “Lostbahnhof,” and was supported by well known record stores like Hardwax and Boomkat. Beside his engagements in Dock-Records Lars became a member of the Fullpanda artist family. In late summer 2016 Lars’ debut EP on Dasha Rush’s label Fullpanda Records will appear.
